Make sure local Control is OFF.
Utlility>Local Control....OFF...
If MIDI is still not being sent you could try a different USB cable if that doesn't help
Then the module probably needs serviced.
if MIDI is being sent and you have problems check the version of Ableton.
There is an issue with certain Alesis modules and Ableton recently updated to 10.1.2

Alesis products use class compliant drivers , so the issue is with Mac/Sierra.
You could try and set up a new MIDI configuration..the link should take you straight to it...at the bottom of the page.

This is the fix that some had to use if you had a failed update performed for an Alesis product on a Mac.In this case it was for the STRIKE module not being recognized.

There is no update...class compliant drivers are built in to products so other drivers aren't required. If both products work on a different Mac then the problem is with the other or it's OS.
(Advanced Drum Modules)Forge and Recital were supported in both Sierra and High Sierra
Sierra

The only MIDI setup/trouble shooter I could find with Apple was for Mojave 10.14

ive thinked about something, couldnt be possible that the problem (a friend told me that) relies on the type of USB ports? i mean makes sense.. this mac has 2.0 USB ports, could that be the problem?

The Forge USB B Port is USB 2.0.It doesn't do much other than transfer MIDI.
Usually the problem is the other way around when USB 3.0 ports have trouble with backwards compatability.
USB 3.0 A to B cables are different size for the B end

ive tried something else ive conected a midi interface to the midi in and midi out on the forge module and worked even i was able to record for a little bit after that the sound stops... so should i change the OS to the Mojave version ? or get it down to sierra? maybe with that change could solve the error of not recognizing the midi devices am i wrong?

I stopped using Mac's years ago because every update or OS change caused problems.
Currently everyone I deal with has sent out warnings not to update to Catalina.
Dozens upon dozens of manufacturers...Catalina will not allow 32 bit...anything.
The new security process in Catalina is the first to require app notarization by default.Apps signed with Developer ID must also be notarized by Apple in order to run on macOS Catalina
I did find a better Audio MIDI Setup on Apple.
It allows you to select OS from a drop down.
The Catalina page is much larger.

Here is a link that may help and is aimed mainly at troubleshooting/resetting the USB Ports.
