Is it possibly to replace the real kick drum and pedal with a silent one? Ive had a look online and cannot find a definitive answer. I was looking at the yamaha ku100 or even one from a dmlite but i can see if that has the 1/4 connection. Can anyone confirm they have tried a silent one that works please?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for posting.

Does your DM10 kit have mesh or rubber pads? We haven't officially tested the DM10 with a silent pedal, but theoretically, this should work.  If your kit has mesh pads, we recommend using a kick beater made of a hard material such as plastic, wood or metal when using a mesh kick pad. Felt beaters can be popular with electronic drum kits with rubber pads, but they should be avoided for use with mesh drum heads. The added friction from the felt can quickly wear down and puncture a hole in the mesh.
