I have the DM10mkii pro and I want to t combine it with the DM7X module. I had contacted Alesis support and they were no help. The only thing I can trigger is a really delayed crash cymbal sound.

I am trying to connect both modules via midi. I would want the DM10 as master and the DM7 as slave.

DM10 guide:

DM7 guide:

I would hope that with all the all the technology Alesis would allow users to be able to expand their kits with more sounds and samples.

Or is there a way to record the AUX in port? When I play along and record a track it only records my raw drums, not the music from the aux signal. Is there a way to get it to record the aux as well?

Hello,

Thanks for posting.

First, you'll need to connect a MIDI cable from the MIDI Out port on your DM7 to the MIDI In port on your DM10. Set the Local Control setting on the DM10 to Off. On the DM7, set GM (general MIDI Mode) to ON. Local Control should be toggled on as well.

I hope this helps!

And I think I found a way to add more cymbals. The DM7 can only be a master, not a slave.

This allows to split the rim/head sounds. So I can essentially add 4 more cymbals.
