Alesis VI49 Editor Issues

The Alesis VI49 Editor is not currently operational on my computer, which is currently running Windows 10. Upon loading the suggested settings in the Device Setup window (MIDIIN2 (VI49) & MIDIOUT2 (VI49)) the program instantly crashes. It seems to only crash when selecting the input--selecting just an output does not cause the program to crash but still does not allow me to send presets to the controller.

Hello Max,

Thanks for the post. I 'd like to help! Make sure you have the latest editor installed! Log onto the product page - www.alesis.com/products/view2/vi49; then under the Downloads section, download and install editor version 1.0.2. Try it out and let me know if you experience the same symptoms. Thanks!

Hi Chris,

That is where I originally downloaded the software. Going to help->About displays a window that confirms that my version is indeed 1.0.2.

Software version 1.0.2 appears to be from 2014.
I am having the same issue as the OP on Win 10.
Anyone out there know how to make this work?

Please run a Ccleaner registry clean and reinstall. You can download Ccleaner here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard
  1. Uninstall any programs associated with the device
  2. Open CCLeaner
  3. Click Registry
  4. Click Scan for Issues
  5. Wait
  6. Fix Select Issues
  7. Click Yes to create a ‘backup’
  8. Click Save
  9. Click Fix All Selected Issues
  10. Run Steps 3-9 two or three more times until there are no issues found.
  11. This should have cleared out unnecessary files that may have been causing any conflicts.
  12. Reboot your computer
  13. Reinstall the software.
Make sure you've properly extracted/unzipped the contents of the folder before you perform the reinstallation.
