Alesis vi25 tempo sync with logic pro x

I'm trying to sync my Vi25 to the tempo set in Logic Pro X. I went in the MIDI sync settings of my DAW and checked "Transmit MIDI clock" to "Vi25in" then to "Vi25 Editor In" and neither worked.

The VI25 user guide says that the tempo is set automatically when set to "external sync" but it does not say how to set it that way. Is my DAW supposed to do this automatically ?

Thank for the help

Hello,

Thanks for posting. To automatically enable this, use a standard five-pin MIDI cable to connect this MIDI Out to the MIDI In of an external MIDI device (e.g., a synthesizer, sequencer, drum machine, etc.). If you are using VI25 to control an external MIDI module, connect VI25's power input to a power outlet using an optional power adapter (9 V DC, 500 mA, center-positive, sold separately). If an external device is connected to the MIDI Out, your computer can send MIDI messages via USB to the VI25, which will then send the message to the external device.

You can use the VI Editor software to adjust your modulation wheel, assignable buttons, assignable knobs, pads, transport buttons, and sustain input to
your external MIDI device. Review your VI Editor's User Guide to learn how to do
this.
