Alesis Strike - Play-along song options?

Is it possible to load a drum-less track into the Module and play along that way instead of just using your phone, so that you can utilize loop features from the display/controls?...if so, what is the maximum song/time length or file size supported? I know it used to be 50 seconds, right? They removed that limit on sample size, didn't they?

Anyone doing something like this with their Strike?

Yes it's possible...maximum? as in length or file size..haven't hit it yet...
The file must be a wav....mp3 will not work.
The problem is... the Rewind/FastForward are for live editing..there is no pause button..it's not a player.

When you hit play..then stop..then play..sample starts at the beginning..hit play twice..starts at beginning....no matter what, the sample will start at the beginning.

I have a large database of Albums I converted to multitracks and backing tracks so I can construct any song I need for multitrack playing/rehearsing on iPad.Bassless..drumless, guitarless vocals etc etc.
I just finished converting the entire DreamTheater Collection
Pull Me Under is one of the longest...Drumless = 8:19 long.. 90mb in size..
No issues...plays from start to finish.
For the STRIKE module organizing them is the key..
You can organize into folders on the SD card..but only one folder deep
for the loops folder otherwise the OS won't detect the sample.

The list on the module will show every wav file from every folder in the loop folder on the SD card as if the samples weren't in any folders at all.
If you have a wav in your last folder that starts with A..and a wav that starts in your first folder that starts with A...both will show at the top with everything else A..

but..once again.. the Rewind/FastForward are for live editing..there is no pause button..it's not a player.

Awesome thanks for confirming. I need to experiment with this to fully understand what you're saying, but I think I get it....

Keep in mind I have only played back the wav. and checked to see if the triggers play at the same time.I have never sat down and played along to a song this size.
The combination of a 90mb wav file playback and a 200mb kit loaded, doing buzz rolls, double bass 190BPM,multi-triggering etc may max out the module.
I am sure you'll find out soon enough if the 200mb limit applies "applies to the whole".
