Alesis Recital Power On Issues

I got a Alesis Recital 88-key digital piano. When I try to plug it in and turn it on the power light goes blue when I push it but as soon as I take my finger off it goes out and I have no power. If I use 6 D batteries I get the same result. If I hold my finger on the power button it stays lit but I cant get any sound out of the piano. Is this a bad power supply/board or is there an easier fix for this? I don't want to go through the hassle of returning it so I'm asking here first.

Hello,

Sorry you're having issues with your Recital.

If you're using D batteries and get the same result, this is likely hardware-related. However, can you confirm the specs of the power supply that you're using with your keyboard? If you're in the US you should be using a 12V 2A power supply.

the one that came with it. it says...

INPUT: 100-240V ~50/60 Hz 0.6A Max

OUTPUT: 12V 2000mA

Assuming it's hardware, does this keyboard have a power supply unit inside it? I've also thought maybe it could be a faulty switch.

Let me know your thoughts

I'm afraid I don't have any information concerning the device's internal components. I would recommend speaking with our Technical Support team about this, as this issue sounds hardware-related. Log on to www.alesis.com/support to contact Support. Their contact information is listed on that page.

Dude you should try using another adapter in my guess mine now is working fine but if you are using this piano outside U.S you should definitely need one converter or you can use a stablizer it will definitely help you in future if it’s still does not work then, you should try going somewhere near your store cause alesis people don’t give a fuck about your re-cital . I think there motto is Buy and get lost. I hope this will be helpful for your re-cital . Good day..
