Running Yosemite and Logic Pro X. When keyboard is plugged in, it lights up but no MIDI information is sent. I've troubleshooted in Audio MIDI Setup and tried the obvious switching MIDI cable, restarting to no avail.

Hello,

Thanks for the post. I'd like to help! Let’s run a test to see if the controller is sending any MIDI Data at all. Lets have open MIDI Monitor to see if reads your Q25.

MIDI Monitor - Mac OS X - http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/

What is it MIDI Monitor? Midi Monitor is a free utility for Mac OS X which displays MIDI signals in a variety of formats. It can watch both incoming and outgoing MIDI streams, and can filter them by message type and channel. Musicians will find it handy for tracking down confusing MIDI problems. Programmers can use it to test MIDI drivers and applications. MIDI Monitor is free to download and use.

1. Download, and Install MIDI Monitor.
2. Open Midi Monitor.
3. Click on the Sources tab to view MIDI devices. Confirm that your USB/MIDI device is listed.
4. Once you confirm your MIDI device is connected and listed. Play any key(s) on your keyboard/controller to confirm each button or key is sending data to your computer. If you device is working you will see a message with data like below. The device is not sending data you may have a hardware issue. Contact the hardware manufacture for further support.

Try this out and let me know how it goes!

Hey Chris,

Thanks for the response. The device isn't displaying at all, it's plugged in and it lighting up perfectly but just isn't outputting MIDI data

Ok. Try a different USB port on your computer. Try using a different USB cord. If your symptoms still persist, contact Alesis Support for servicing options by logging onto www.alesis.com/support.

Not sure why Alesis products are so poorly manufactured nowadays. For years I used Alesis ADAT Machines and they were fantastic! 2 years ago I bought the Drumlite. Pedal stopped working out of the blue, which was a common problem, and all the drums started to get jammed. Now Alesis Q25 which I though was a great concept. until one day it just started to not work at all USB. The lights light up, so there is power; MIDI works well, so it is sending data. I've connected via MIDI interface to iPAD it works. Directly via USB, it lights up but sends no data!
