Tuning scales

I would love if the MPC Live allowed users to define/import scales on top of the predefined ones. I'm getting into using and designing microtonal / just intonation scales. I'm also a developer (recently released a microtonal tuning app for iOS), and would be happy to help with the design and/or coding of such a feature.

Hey Elemental,

Thanks for posting!

This does not apply to scales or microtonality but you are able to create a user defined progression in the MPC Software by writing a MIDI sequence and selecting Tools > Convert to Progression. The MPC will identify chords in the sequence and you can use these progressions on the MPC hardware. Check page 328 of the MPC hardware user guide for more information about that process!

If you have an idea for the MPC workflow, be sure to submit this as a feature request with the MPC 2.x Software's built-in feedback module. The feedback module is represented by a smiley icon at the lower right side of the software next to the browser icons. This information goes directly to the Akai team for consideration!

If you need an alternative method of submitting feedback, you may use the following links:

MPC - Submit a Feature Request

MPC - Submit a Bug Report

Thanks for your feedback!

Any response to the microtonal feature support? These features will determine whether I pick up an mpc live or mpc x. I know plenty of people who have avoided akai products because they did not have this feature. Instead they use old ensoniq samplers from the 90s.
