Recently updated to the latest firmware 2.2. Was using my MPC Live just fine last night, but this morning I was met with this error - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FqGe... - Not sure what's going on here but the device is in stand alone mode and the screen is black with no functionality.

In your video at around 1:56 Live shows for a very brief moment a text message - I could not identify it but this could be helpful for finding the source of your Problem...

I’m having this issue again after installing a SSD. It was working fine for a week and then tonight the same issue occurred as when I was using an SD card. If I uninstall the SSD it will probably work again as that’s what I had to do with the SD card, but I don’t want to uninstall the SSD - both drives are formatted exFat. If I can’t use an SD card or an Internal drive than what really is the point in owning this machine.

Ok so I was unable to find a way to downgrade but what I did do was uninstall the internal drive and reset the mpc in the settings section - where it tells you what firmware version you are using there is an option to reset on the bottom right. Reinstalled the internal drive and its working again without booting to the black screen.

I watched that video, especially where Chris said there was something showing (too blurry to read on the video) at around 1:56. So on that screen there are two buttons at the bottom, centerish. Maybe try to clicking on one of them? It may be possible to tap them even if the screen is black, if something is only affecting the video output.

I mean, that screen shot looks like a typical dialog with two choices (buttons). The background even look styled. Also, it happens right after, what looks like the power, button is pressed, which typically on computers arre either hardlinked or associated to kernel traps, which would support why the screen appears after it's pressed.

Yeah the tui displays for a split second and then it goes back to black for about a minute or so before the tui comes back for a split second and so on. I barely have enough time to click on the tui but I did manage and it doesn’t seem like it advances to the next tui screen - whether thats because I’m not clicking on it fast enough while its there or not .. nothing is responding on the machine.

Exact same thing happening to me. Raised on a another thread:

Is this a firmware or hardware fault?

I don’t think it’s hardware as I uninstalled the internal drive which allowed the Live to boot normally - went to the settings parameters and reset the unit entirely. I reinstalled the internal drive and the Live booted without the black screen issue happening. I also tried booting with the SD card installed and it never went to the black screen, booted normally.

This tells me it’s some kind of nasty bug. Akai needs to acknowledge this asap cause this can make them lose sales.

The MPC Live is a pain in the Ass I bought mines online Brand New. Made a gang of tracks just for it to Die out on me.. Got up 1 morning & the Basturd stop working on me. Then i disconect SD card & SSD for a day. Held the power button minutes. Then Flickered with the power button. Then the pads lit up for a minute. So I continued to try to reset with the power button it booted. It only lasted a day then reverted back to the Black Screen. Dude I"m Super Pissed @ Akai!!! Plus they have the worst text Support. they never Answer their phone. Native instruments way better then They Buts
